The name may not be as familiar to visitors as Maravanthe or Kollur, but once you reach the viewpoint, the landscape explains why this place is special.
From the top, you get a wide view of the Arabian Sea, the Sumanavathi River and the surrounding greenery. The river moves through the coastal landscape before meeting the sea, and the elevated position of Nesaradhama gives you a much better perspective of this meeting point than you get from the beach below.
Kshitija Nesaradhama is located on a small hill at Ottinene, close to Byndoor. The viewpoint is surrounded by coastal vegetation, giving it a peaceful atmosphere even though the sea is very close.

ಸೋಮೇಶ್ವರದ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ತೀರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ದೃಶ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ, ಒತ್ತಿನೆಣೆ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ನೋಟವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತಾಗ ಕಾಣದ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವು ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನದಿ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ, ಸಮುದ್ರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಇರುವ ಭೂಭಾಗ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವುದರಿಂದ ಒತ್ತಿನೆಣೆಯ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಒತ್ತಿನೆಣೆ ವ್ಯೂ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್ನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ “sunset point” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಅದರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ವರೂಪವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತೀರ, ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಷಿತಿಜ ನೇಸರ ನಿಸರ್ಗಧಾಮ, ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಇಳಿಜಾರು ಮತ್ತು ಎದುರಿಗೆ ನದಿ–ಸಮುದ್ರದ ವಿಶಾಲ ದೃಶ್ಯ — ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಸೇರಿ ಒತ್ತಿನೆಣೆಗೆ ಬೈಂದೂರಿನ ಕರಾವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಾನ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ.
ಬೈಂದೂರಿನ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿರದಿಂದ ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ತೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿಯಬೇಕು; ಆದರೆ ಬೈಂದೂರಿನ ಸಮುದ್ರ, ನದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ದೃಶ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಒತ್ತಿನೆಣೆ ವ್ಯೂ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್ಗೆ ಏರಬೇಕು.
